Heading towards the winter solstice how are we feeling? Has the loss of the summer sun, or autumns glory left a chill space in our souls. As the days have grown short and the nights long, and the trees grow bare and we hasten towards deadlines that close as quickly as the approach of the darkening day. We should remember the humble Mistletoe.
Mistletoe, not the drunken excuse for a quick kiss at an office party but of life within. The Mistletoe in midwinter delivers it's fruit at the most barren of times. It is easy to lose an understanding of the feeling of loss Christmas can bring - the outward signs of short days, long, nights, and barren trees and fields - the realities of memories of loved ones lost but not forgotten of loneliness, fear and doubt - yet Mistletoe reminds us of life.
Seeds wait dormant in the ground ready to burst forth in the springtime, the leaves that lie like fallen soldiers now provide the sustenance for the plants that will sprout in spring. The winter is part of our life cycle both in nature and in our reality. The winter experience is the herald of new beginning of potential that is currently unseen and untapped.
Consider the mistletoe and let it remind you of the untapped resource that lies dormant awaiting the right time and conditions to flourish. Mistletoe a harbinger of life at the darkest of times.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Potential Released New Year
